Day 5

Last day of activities!
Today, the children woke to a cloudy and chilly morning in Glasbury. At breakfast, they all appeared at the table in their pyjamas and looking very tired!
It was the final day of activities and they included: Adventure, Caving and Pony trecking. It was a brilliant day for all children.
During the evening we played a few games, including 'How to change your duvet', ready for tomorrow morning when they have to change their bedding! We also had a disco where the boys and girls had a dance off!
It was been a brilliant week and the children have been fantastic!
Well done Year 6!!

Day 4

Day 4
The children woke to a very white Glasbury as there had been some snow fall over night.

The activities for today were: Horse Riding, Mountain Walking and Canoeing.

As it was such a beautiful morning, the mountain walkers were taken to a different mountain to normal, they went to the highest mountain in South Wales, called Pen - Y - Fan.... it was 2907 feet high. The children found it hard at first, but it was well worth it. The view from the summit was outstanding. Even Miss Simmonds and Mrs Carleton managed it!

The canoeists also had a great time. It took a lot of team work (some slightly better than others at this!). Once they had passed the rapids, the children jumped out of the canoes and had a play in the freezing water.

The horse riders all did well and took part in a small competition around a small course. Annissa came first, much to her delight!

The evening activities included a Glasbury house quiz and a Boy / girls night. The boys played pool and games while the girls put on make up and painted their nails!

Here are some photos of the day:

Day 3

Once again the children had a good night sleep and were up and ready to go for yet another day of activities.
The activities for the day were: Caving, Mountian Walking and Horse riding. It was a lovely day, with some small flurries of snow.
The activity during the evening was an orienteering trail around the grounds of Glasbury house. Liam, Max and Atakan were the winners with Miss Simmonds and Millie coming a close second!
As you can see from the pictures below, the children had a fantastic day!

Day 2

All children had another good nights sleep and were up bright and early for a fun filled day of activities. We had groups; canoeing, adventuring and mountain walking.
The mountain walkers did very well and although it was tough, they never gave up!

The canoeists had to battle against the harsh, welsh winds whilst trying to row down the river. It was hard work but they all felt a sense of achievement at the end.
During today's adventure activities, they went walking through waterfalls and climbing through tunnels. Night time activities included being blindfolded and following a route around the house, using only a rope to hold onto.... not as easy as you may think!
The children then wrote letters and in their diaries before making their way to bed.
They all had a great day but are absolutely exhausted!
